Athens Ohio Stars | Personal Project

I love space! Justing thinking that there are more stars in the visible universe than grains of sand on every beach on earth makes me say wow! I was spending the night with my wife Jenna in Athens sitting by the fire outside and decided to get my camera out. Athens is pretty remote and I didn't know I could take these kinds of photos until I tried. I was using my Nikon D750 with the following settings: ISO 3200, F2.8-F2, 50-28mm, with a 10-30 second shutter. The results were out of this world. I think I might print a poster of some of these.

Ash Cave Ice Waterfall

Back in February my wife and I heard that the Ash Cave waterfall was frozen from top to bottom creating a  column. This waterfall only does this every 20 years or so. When we got a chance to go on down a few days later the top 1/3 fell because it warmed up. The waterfall was still wonderful to see regardless. My wife and I love to hike in the Hocking Hills because it is a short drive from Columbus and I always see something new to photograph. Below are a few photos of the frozen water fall at Ash Cave. The first two photos are normal touched up exposures the last four are HDR that turned out great!

Hocking Hills Photography - Personal Project

I had a great time going down to Hocking Hills and visting Old Man's Cave and Ash Cave this past weekend. I got to take my time use my tripod to take multiple exposures and conbine them in photoshop. The photos turned out great. I think I need to take fine art images more often. Below are a few of my favorite photos from Old Man's Cave and Ash Cave.

Inniswood Gardens Snow - Westerville, Ohio

This is one of the most mild winters I have experienced in a long time. Usually I never see the sun this time of year because of overcast skies in Columbus. It seems like most of the time there is some snow or ice on my car every other day. This winter it has been 40-50 degrees almost every day. So when the snow finally fell I decided to go to Inniswood Gardens walk around, try some new paths, and take a few photographs of the snow fall. I bundled up so I could concentrate on taking photos and not the cold. Below are a few of the photos that I enjoyed taking at Inniswood Gardens.
