Franklin Park Conservatory Wedding Album

Franklin Park Conservatory is one of my favorite wedding venues in Columbus. The venue has several different locations for wedding ceremonies and receptions. I looked through all of my weddings I have photographed there in the past and made a sample album for the venue. This album covers three weddings in the Palm House, Bridal Garden, West Terrace, and the Veridian. If you want to see this album in person ask for it at the Franklin Park Conservatory. I will have a copy in their office sometime next week.

Weddings at the Venue at Corazon

Yesterday I went to the Venue at Corazon for a Wedding Proessionals of Columbus meeting. I got to hear the guest speaker Kathy Piech-Lukas with yourdreamday.com talk about social media. After the meeting I got a little bit of free time to explore the venue and take a few photos. The architecture reminds me of sothern California or Mexico. It was wonderful seeing it for the first time. I can't wait to shoot a wedding here. I have all these thoughts of where to take the wedding party when I find a new place. Franklin Park Conservatory Wedding with Kaylee and Evan

I had the pleasure for photographing Kaylee and Evan wedding at the Franklin Park Conservatory. The Franklin Park Conservatory is a wonderful venue with a lot of space outside and in. When night falls the Conservatory glows and I finally got a portfolio shot that I have been waiting for a long time to get. I started the day at the Franklin Park Conservatory before anyone showed up to take a look around the ceremony site in the Palm House to make sure everything looked good and take a look at the lighting. Kaylee arrived first and I got to photograph the dress hanging up beforehand. Once I finished that Evan arrived and I got to take him and the groomsmen outside for a few quick portraits by the artwork in the park. We then proceeded to go sign the Ketubah (Jewish marriage contract). After that we then had the ceremony in the Palm House. The ceremony was beautiful. After the ceremony we went outside to take the fun wedding party photos. The photos turned out great. During the reception we went out side for a quick portrait in front of the Conservatory. It is now one of my favorite photos of this year and on the front page of my website. Congratulations Kaylee and Evan!

The Boat House Wedding with Amie and Michael

I had a great time with Amie and Michael at the Boat House a few weeks ago. The Boat House was previously known at the River Club until it changed it’s name recently. The view of the city is amazing and very few reception halls like the Boat House has this view. It was my goal this time to get a great photo of the bride and groom with the city in the background and I finally nailed it. I started my day at the Marriott in Dublin, Ohio. I photographed the dress hanging up and took a few other photos at Amie was getting ready for the wedding. The rings with her shoes also came out great. I then traveled on down to the Boat House. I got some nice photos of the cake with the city in the background as everything was coming together. I also got some outside photographs of the wedding party before the wedding. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a lot of fun. I took them outside for one final photo of the Columbus, Ohio Skyline in the background. Congratulations Amie and Michael!

The Vault Wedding with Todd and Peri

I was very excited this past weekend to photograph Todd and Peri’s wedding at the Vault. I have never been to the Vault before and couldn’t believe how great they decorated it. The trees and the logs of wood had a great winter theme to them. They gave the entire place a great feel. They lit everything almost entirely with candle light. It was very impressive. I started the day with Tom and him groomsmen getting ready and got a few portraits out of the way. As I was getting ready for the ceremony I noticed that the trees needed a little bit more light on them. I got my remote flashes and put them at the base of the trees. It made a world of difference. The ceremony went great with Damian with United Marriage Services officiating it. After the ceremony I played around with the lighting of the portraits outside and inside the vault door. You can see how well the portraits and the first dance came out below. Congratulations to Pari and Todd!

The Blackwell Hotel Wedding with Jeff and Christy

I had the pleasure of photographing Christy and Jeff wedding two weeks ago. They live in Kentucky and we had our first meeting though Skype. I showed them the albums and I enjoyed talking to them. The ceremony and reception was held at The Blackwell. The Blackwell is a beautiful venue located on the Ohio State University campus. Their catering is one of the best in the city. We started the day with Jeff and got a few great photos of him with his groomsmen on the patio. I added some lighting to make it a little more dramatic. The portraits came out fantastic. I also did the same with Christy. We then had their First Look. I put Jeff in the middle of the ceremony aisle and had him turn around to his bride to be. His expression was great. We also had tome to get the family portraits out of the way. They also had their son there and he was smiling from ear to ear. We then went to the OSU stadium for the fun portraits. I always like the portraits of the entire wedding party laughing out loud. I always get great expressions from it. The ceremony went great with Damian King with United Marriage Services officiating it. It was nice to get the portraits out of the way so Christy and Jeff could enjoy the cocktail hour. The Blackwell quickly transformed the ceremony site into the reception in no time. As you can see below the ballroom looked great! Congratulations Christy and Jeff!

Dock 580 Columbus Wedding Venue - Photos in video

Dock 580 previously known as the Smith Brothers Loft is another great Columbus wedding venue. The venue is located right off of 4th street just north of downtown Columbus. Dock 580 is a unique venue where you can have the dance floor on the lower level and have all the guest seating on the floor above. When the dancing is going on you can view everything from above. It is something you will just have to experience. The brickwork, lighting and food make this venue one of my favorites.

Brookside Country Club Wedding Video

Brookside Country Club has one of the best looking landscapes and venue in Columbus. The golf course has some of the most beautiful walkways and wood bridges. When I take photos at this venue it seemed that there was endless locations to take photos from the fountain out front to all the golf paths in the back. It is so scenic during the summer months I can't wait to go back and photograph another wedding there.
